Galaxy 1 has deployed its extensive experience in providing critical networks and hybrid communications to solve the problem of reliable communication for unmanned air vehicles (UAV).

Robust connectivity is key to enabling safe unmanned air system (UAS) operations beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS).

Our managed UAV platform puts command and control data first—ensuring pilots and flight coordinators maintain real-time visibility and precise control throughout every mission. Advanced monitoring tools deliver a continuous, end-to-end view of network performance, enabling uninterrupted mission execution.

Seamless integration with UTM providers ensures UAV position data is relayed in real time, supporting safe airspace separation and strict adherence to agreed flight plans. Meanwhile, payload data is delivered securely and directly into the customer’s systems—ready for immediate use.

Multiple levels of redundancy ensure continuous connectivity:

  • Global networks from Viasat, Iridium and Deutsche Telekom provide triple-redundant command and control connectivity across the world.
  • Geographically separated redundant ground stations and points of presence coupled with AWS cloud provide resilience in case of failure.
  • Automated bearer failover, policy-based switching and link monitoring ensure continuous connectivity between pilot and UAS.

A combination of geostationary orbit (GEO) satellites, low earth orbit (LEO) satellite constellation and terrestrial cellular connectivity provide three networks to ensure continuous connectivity.
