Live from Mount Everest

Science and Technology Correspondent Miles O'Brien goes Live Via Inmarsat BGAN Satellite from Mt. Everest using the Hughes HNS 9201 satellite data terminal.

Miles O'Brien is a 26-year broadcast news veteran - with nearly 17 years as CNN’s science, aerospace, technology and environment correspondent. He is now on his own - based in New York City - covering the same stuff across various media platforms.

Miles is broadcasting live interviews and posting up to the minute photos, video clips and blogs with five-time shuttle flier and veteran spacewalker Astronaut Scott Parazynski on his quest for the top of the world.  Along with Scott is another technical guru, Keith Cowing who is part of the team that is managing the scientific experiments Scott will be taking to the summit.  Keith is also the Digital Broadcaster behind ( and often in front ) of the live broadcast made possible by the Hughes 9201 and Inmarsat Satellite Network.
